Out of Town wedding guests are putting in extra effort to be there to share in the celebration of your big day, so you want to give them a little special attention and thanks. The big event itself is going to be busy and you might not get to spend as much time with each of your out of town guests as you would like. Sometimes it isn’t feasible to invite everyone from out of town to the rehearsal dinner either, so what can you do? Think of creating an out of town guest care-package to greet them. Map: Very important for an out-of-towner, you can usually find these free of charge at a local visitor’s center or print them yourself from Google maps if you prefer. Circle some of your favorite places with different colors for “to do”, “to see”, “to eat” suggestions.

Postcard: Include a postcard with a picture of your location for them to remember the trip by, or to send to a friend back home.

Local Treats: Include a snack item so that if they grab the gift and hit the road, they will have something to eat while exploring your town/city. We suggest providing a local delicacy for your guest to enjoy.

Bottled Water: Hydration is essential.

Sunscreen: If you an in a sunny destination, this is an important one!

Wine/ Champagne: For them to enjoy after a long day of travel… maybe a local microbrew if they are more of a beer drinker?

Games: Include age appropriate games for kids and/or adults in the care-package.

CD: Local artists, or a favorite of the bride and groom will make for a memorable trip soundtrack.

Coloring books/ kids activities: If your guests are going to be traveling with small children, they will surely appreciate a little quiet time when they get to the hotel. The kids will be attention will be absorbed by their new activities.

Advil: Include your favorite hangover cure if you want to encourage your guest to let loose!

Popcorn: You can leave them a couple bags of the microwave kind if there is one in the room, and if not you can purchase some pre-popped.
